40 Tropical Exotic Passion Fruit Seeds Purple Passiflora edulis - Germination ± 97%
Overview and Details
The Purple Passion Fruit is a vigorous, climbing vine that clings by tendrils to almost any support. It can grow 15 to 20 ft. per year once established and must have strong support. It is generally short-lived (5 to 7 years).
Common names
Its common names include Passion Fruit (UK and US), and Passionfruit (Australia and New Zealand), Purple Granadilla Maracuja and Maracujá. In Colombia, the purple passion fruit is referred to as "gulupa", to distinguish it from the yellow maracuyá.
Hardiness
USDA Zone 8a: to -12.2 °C (10 °F)
USDA Zone 8b: to -9.4 °C (15 °F)

Sowing instructions
Passiflora edulis is very easy to grow from seeds.
Soak seeds in in warm water or orange juice for 24 hours or hydrogen peroxide (3%) for 20 minutes before planting them
Sow in a light mixture
Maintain between 20 ºC and 24 ºC (68-75 ºF)
When you see some tiny plants starting to sprout, slowly open the top of the pot, a little each day, so that the new seedlings don't go into shock from the humidity being lowered too quickly.
